Rick Jupp


Rick was a co-founder, co-songwriter and Drummer in the band Elbow for over 28 years. During that time, they sold over 6 million albums, toured the world several times over (from clubs to stadiums) and won numerous awards, including a BRIT, two Ivor Novello's and the Mercury Music Prize. 

Since leaving the band in late 2015, Rick has focused on developing his private teaching. He is a Lecturer at LIPA and also teaches drums at the BIMM Institute in Manchester. Rick has taught drum Masterclasses at The UK Drum Show (2017), Salford University, and many other drumming events.He runs one-to-one Drum Sessions, Drum and Industry Workshops, Masterclasses and Pre-Production feedback sessions, as well as mentoring musicians, bands and Artists at all levels. He works with every level of Musician from those just starting out to seasoned professionals.

Rick has a special interest in using drumming as music therapy.  He is a Patron of The National Autistic Society and offers one-to-one drum lessons at home in his specially designed ‘Drum Shed’.
